Lohri, the festival which ushers in the joyous spring and bids adieu to the hard winter, was virtually celebrated with exuberance at Presidium. The mood was upbeat and the students actively immersed in the festive spirit. Students were told about the significance of the festival in the classroom sessions, with the help of videos and story narrations. On occasion, both students and teachers sang songs immersed in the rich cultural folklore of Punjab. Folk songs were also played to make the mood, and soon everybody joined in the energetic rhythm during the online sessions. Students also painted and decorated the pictures of holy fire. The students happily munched peanuts, popcorn, and gajak during the virtual celebration. Festivals such as these help to spread good cheer and are welcomed by one and all.
