“A good orator is pointed and impassioned.” - Marcus T. Cicero
Keeping in sync with the phenomenal saying, the Story Tellers Academy at Presidium organized an Intra Class Debate Competition of grades VI-VIII. It was an attempt to foster a culture of self-expression and inculcate the spirit of healthy dissent by indulging in a verbal duel of wits and words. The students were provided with relatable topics to choose from encompassing the different aspects of life. While Grades VI and VII expressed their views on subjects like ‘Self Studies vs Classroom Studies’, ‘Influence of Media on our Lives,' ‘Different Models of Performance Assessment of Students’ and ‘Importance of Pets in our Lives’, the students of Grade VIII, on the other hand, explored on topics that impact their lives the most. They were found presenting their arguments and counter-arguments on topics like ‘ Role of Television as an Effective Tool in Building the Minds of the Children’, ‘Exams only Measure the Memory of the Students, not their Learning’ and ‘Today’s Children are Fashion Victims.' The participants delivered their views confidently and seamlessly which was evident from their clear and consistent communication.
