PRESIDIANS SPREAD AWARENESS ABOUT NATIONAL VOTERS’ DAY

The National Voters’ Day has been celebrated on January 25th every year since 2011 all across the country to mark the foundation day of the Election Commission of India. The main purpose of the NVD celebration is to encourage, facilitate and maximize enrollment, especially for new voters. This year President Ram Nath Kovind will participate in the ceremony virtually and will confer the National Awards for the year 2020-21. The theme for this year's NVD is 'making our voter empowered, vigilant, safe and informed,' envisage active and participative voters during elections. It also focuses on ECE's commitment towards conducting elections safely during the Covid-19 Pandemic situation. Our students of Grade 6, 7, and 8th participated enthusiastically to mark the importance of this day that is the day dedicated to the voters of the country, and tried to spread the awareness among other students with their remarkable performance.

REPUBLIC DAY: PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE RICH DIVERSITY OF INDIA

“Freedom in mind, faith in our heart, memories in our souls. Let's salute the Nation on Republic Day.”

Republic Day is celebrated on January 26 every year to remember the day when the Constitution of India came into effect. Each year, January 26 is a day on which every Indian heart fills up with patriotic fervor. To mark Republic Day, Presidians celebrated this day with pride, as it illustrates the importance of all the privileges this nation has offered us. The celebration commenced with flag hoisting, and speeches were delivered by students to celebrate the fact that we all stand as a united force despite our differences. India's rich cultural heritage was depicted in the form of dance from various states. This exhibition of diversity and richness of the culture of India added a festive air to the occasion. Students also made posters, slogans, recited poems, and created craft samples that showed patriotic ardor and immense love for the motherland.

PRESIDIANS PARTICIPATE IN PUPPET MAKING ACTIVITY WITH ENTHUSIASM

Art and craft are important for the overall development of a child. Puppet making competition was organized for grade 4 and 5, wherein the students participated whole-heartedly and enthusiastically. This competition aimed to enhance and develop the creative talent of the students. Students used the available waste material like socks, paper, ice cream sticks, thread, gloves, ribbon, plastic glasses, waste cloth material, wool, newspapers, etc., to make puppets. These materials helped them retrieve different ideas from their imagination. They participated and came up with various kinds of puppets like sock puppets, stick puppets, and cloth puppets. It was an amazing experience to see the innovative and attractive puppets.

PRESIDIANS ENJOY THE VIRTUAL VISIT TO THE RAIL MUSEUM

Presidium recently organized a Virtual educational trip to the Rail museum for students of grade Prep. Rail Museum is an exceptional delight with its remarkable display of India’s rail heritage, antique locomotives, exclusive exhibits, train rides, and more. The students were attentive, excited, and asked many questions related to their visit to the Rail museum during their vacations. The objective of showcasing a virtual tour of the Rail Museum was to show the aspects of transportation taught in class. Here they got a fair idea of how the rail system works and how it helps the country. During the class discussion, the teachers explained the benefits of rail in our country, namely, that it is the main form of transport that economically connects the many remote areas of India with the major towns. It was a very amusing and memorable day for the students as they enjoyed the rails virtually and shared their experiences.

PRESIDIANS ENRICH THEIR VOCABULARY WITH SPELLATHON COMPETITION

The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill, and the willingness to learn is a choice. Words are tools for expression, and they help in strengthening and building vocabulary. And a strong foundation of spellings builds an empire of language. To enrich the vocabulary, pronunciation, and understanding of the words of our Presidians, an Intra-Cass Spellathon Competition was organized under The Story Teller's Academy. Spellathon is a spelling challenge in which our students were engaged in three rounds. Round 1- Spell them right, Round 2-Who am I? and Round 3- Let us arrange. Students took part in the competition enthusiastically. They got exposure to a world of new words and were congratulated for their amazing performance.

PRESIDIANS IMMERSE IN THE FESTIVE SPIRIT OF LOHRI

Lohri, the festival which ushers in the joyous spring and bids adieu to the hard winter, was virtually celebrated with exuberance at Presidium. The mood was upbeat and the students actively immersed in the festive spirit. Students were told about the significance of the festival in the classroom sessions, with the help of videos and story narrations. On occasion, both students and teachers sang songs immersed in the rich cultural folklore of Punjab. Folk songs were also played to make the mood, and soon everybody joined in the energetic rhythm during the online sessions. Students also painted and decorated the pictures of holy fire. The students happily munched peanuts, popcorn, and gajak during the virtual celebration. Festivals such as these help to spread good cheer and are welcomed by one and all.

Swami Vivekananda's philosophy continues to be a great source of inspiration to the youth of our Nation. To offer our tribute to the great teacher, the students of Presidium School celebrated National Youth Day on the auspicious occasion of Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary with great zeal and enthusiasm. The students of Grade-VI, VII, and VIII made posters, raised slogans intending to commemorate the vibrant, creative, and intelligent spirit of this day. The students were motivated to be good citizens of India, thus contributing to the country's development. Presidium School aspires to instill the values and qualities in today's youngsters who carry the promise of building new India tomorrow.
